   The PET Computational Structural Mechanics team from the University
of Illinois is pleased to announce the inaugural issue of the NCSA CSM
Digest, a concise monthly newsletter of current events and upcoming
meetings of potential interest to the CSM community. PET is the
Programming Environment and Training initiative of the DoD High
Performance Computing Modernization Program. NCSA is the National
Center for Supercomputing Applications.

   Please take a few moments to browse our first issue (to be posted
separately). Instructions for subscribing to and unsubscribing from
this publication appear in the CONTACT INFORMATION section near the
bottom of the newsletter. Readers may subscribe or unsubscribe at any
time. Everyone receiving this announcement is currently subscribed. A
mailto link has also been provided for writing to the CSM Digest staff.
Comments and suggestions for future publication topics are welcome.

   In next month's issue, we will initiate a new section for
undergraduate and graduate-level students interested in summer
intern positions with leading academic and government institutions.
Please pass a copy of the CSM Digest along to interested students
of your own, or feel free to make us aware of other offerings for
computational engineering students if you are currently searching
for candidates.
